Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 various events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on court had caused some to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an improved serving game.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five points to gain the advantage.

The pair traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a final set.

He rescued 4 early-game break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
